AKTIVASI ZEOLIT PDF

Article Info Publish Date 05 Apr Drying is one process which is used in many industries, especially in food product. The process usually still has low energy efficiency and can make food deterioration because of the usage of high temperature. One alternative in drying technology is the use of zeolite as a water vapor adsorbent. This kind of drying method make it possible to operate in lower temperature, hence it will be suitable for heat sensitive product.

Jurnal i-lib UGM. Palm Oil Fatty Acids Distilate, the byproduct of physical refining of palm oil, has been found to contain a considerable amount of tocopherol. This tocopherol can be separated from saponiable materials, however, needs further purification. Considering the properties of activated zeolite, it seems to be a promising material for packing material for the purification of tocopherol. The activation zeolites were then used as the packing materials for colomn chromatography.

The specific surface area and the diameter of pore were found not to be effected by the condition of the activation. However, the eluate still contained some impurities so that it can be considered that temperature and concentration of the sulphuric acid used in this study will not give an activated zeolite which can be used for the purification of tocopherols.
